One of our full service clients, Discount Online Parts, LLC

Discount Online Parts, LLC came to looking to start a brand new business selling outdoor power equipment parts. We began by establishing a brand for DOP. By looking at their target market, marketing objectives, company culture, long term company goals, and strategic positioning to create a new brand for DOP that included a custom logo, businesses cards, and stationary.

The central component to the entire company was going to be the website. Completing research, client meetings, and initial planning we developed a strategic plan for the new site. We focused on ease-of-use, layout/design, functionality, and structure as the primary needs as well as the key components: shopping cart, secure check out, and site search. In addition to building the site from the ground up, we created a management site that allows the business to view and process orders, export reports, add/edit/remove merchandise, and complete other functions on the website.

After completing the site, we spent time doing rigorous testing before launching it to the general public. We have also continued to create custom components for the site, including product reviews.

Getting visitors to the site was going to be the biggest challenge. The primary strategy was going to be search engine optimization. We developed an ongoing plan that included both on and off site strategies. We helped DOP reach an average of over 1,000 visitors a day in less than six months. This ongoing process is working to continue the number of visitors they receive each day through generating new copy for the website as well other search engine optimization strategies.

In addition to SEO, we have used email newsletters and social marketing to keep DOP in front of their customers as well as supplying them with new promotional information including sales and specials.

Marketing Lessons Learned From: Driving in the Rain

Yesterday, I was on my way home from Knoxville, TN after having a great time at the Get Motivated Business Seminar. After hearing speeches from Bruce Pearl, Rudy Giuliani, Zig Ziglar, and Gen. Colin Powell, I was in deep thought about how I could make a change in my life that could influence my work and my clients. As I merged on the interstate it started to pour, the cats and dogs kind. People were cramming on their brakes and getting into the slow lanes, I could only see a few feet ahead of me, and we were barely moving. I realized that by riding slowly behind the car in front of me, that not only was my windshield getting pelted by the rain, but my windshield was also getting the slosh from the wheels of the car I was tailgating.
